It happened...Harrison and I got restless today. We suddenly decided to take a little adventure. Our choices were: Kennecott Copper Mine or Lake Mary. We looked at the flip flops on our feet and headed for the copper mine. We stopped off for a diet coke at Sonic and then made the long trek between the Wasatch and Oquirrh ranges. (Yes, in our air conditioned car with a game cube and an iPod and a cell phone). Nevertheless...we arrived at the mine and walked around. We loved the incredible view of the inside of the earth and the people working in there. We walked thru the Visitor's Center and we talked about all the gadgets and displays. We learned about so many things that we use everyday that contain copper. Harrison is excited to know that everybody's game boys have copper inside them. And he was intrigued by the copper wires residing in the black cables in the car that connect the game cube to the monitor. Which reminds me, I've been saving an old game cable for Harrison to check out. I'll show him how to take the plastic off and see the wires inside. Harrison wanted to stay and watch the video too. He loved the video. It showed us how they put dynamite under the dirt and blast part of the mountain away. We'll always keep our ears open for that sound. He's getting so grown up. We had such a great time together.

What a great teacher and learner you two are! Wish I could have been there with you, but I would have wanted to be invisible so I could just watch you interact with each other.
