old house, new house

i live in a dark, old house sans style or appeal. in fact, sans carpet in most parts of it. but, i really need this bed (frame only). i want my victorian bedroom. when i left texas last year, i had just finished painting the bedroom that was going to be my victorian. i used blue-grey paint below the chairrail and antique white paint above and on the ceiling. i spared no expense and got the matching crown moulding, chairrail and baseboard with designs carved in them. the curtains were shabby chic sheers with embroidered flowery designs along the bottom edge. they flowed elegantly in the perfect march breeze. they let in beautiful streams of sunlight. i looked out the windows at the sparkling, curving swimming pool and beyond that lots of healthy, green grass and trees.

so i sit here wondering if i can ever pull that off in this funky house. and my dream is always stopped in its tracks. answer me: is it possible? or must i live by the adage that a woman CAN have it all -- just not all at the same time.

either that last bit was a sex in the city quote or you've been watching it, alot.

i love victorian style, forget this modern furniture. you don't really need to have your bed that close to the floor do you? go old, it's cute.
